About Me
I am a Professor of Water Resources Engineering in the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering at the University of New Mexico. My research interests include hydrologic transport, wildfire effects on water quantity and quality, the interplay between food-energy and water resources, stream ecology, groundwater-surface water interactions, and smart tracers.
I am also an avid cyclist and enjoy riding road, gravel and mountain bicycles. From time to time, I compete in local and regional races.
Academic Training
Joined Dr. Roy Haggerty's research team and worked on the development and application of the resazurin-resorufin smart tracer system.
Completed a BS in Biosystems Engineering and an MS in Water Resources Engineering. Between degrees, worked at the university on research projects.

Career
Joined UNM immediately after completing Ph.D. studies. Progressed from Assistant (2013) to Associate Professor (2019) to Professor (2024).
Taught undergraduate courses and conducted collaborative research while completing Ph.D. studies.
